Happy July + An Exciting Update!
Happy July! 🎉 Can you believe we are more than halfway through 2024?! 🤯 This year is flying by!
Also, slightly unrelated, but yesterday was my 10 year anniversary of starting this website (formerly called Black Bean Queen because black beans are my favorite food), which is also wild to me! I started this website when I was freshly graduated from undergrad at 22 years old & years before I become a dietitian. I took long breaks from writing posts at times, but now here I am 10 years writing & sharing nutrition, plant-based, & running musings still without plans of stopping anytime soon, so that’s pretty cool!

The news: I’ve been working on this behind the scenes for a while & I’m so excited to share I am now in-network with Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS) PPO insurance plans in select locations! 📣

Note: In-network coverage depends on your specific insurance plan & state of residence. Many people are finding that their benefits include unlimited dietitian visits & they have no co-pay! But you will have to verify & understand your insurance benefits before working with me as plans vary. If you’ve been on the fence about working with me as your dietitian due to cost & have BCBS PPO insurance, this would be a great opportunity for you! 🙂
If you do not have BCBS PPO, I am still offering self-pay options. For self-pay clients, I can provide a superbill for you to submit to your insurance for potential reimbursement upon request. You may also be able to use your HSA card, but always confirm with them that this is a covered service. ✅
I currently have some openings after graduating a several clients in May and June, so this is great timing. If you are participating in any summer or fall goal races or competitions now is the time to get on top of your nutrition & start practicing your fueling strategy. 👏🏻
I also love working with people who trying to go plant-based, planning a plant-based pregnancy, or are already plant-based & want to make sure they are meeting their needs so they can stay plant- based for the long haul. I also enjoy working with people dealing with ARFID due to my own lived experience & a gap in providers who work with ARFID. You do not need to be plant-based or go plant-based to work with me as your dietitian, though. 🌱
